Nunez mocked by Forest fansStriker scores winner for LiverpoolKlopp tells him 'screw them'WHAT HAPPENED?
Nunez scored a 99th-minute winner for Liverpool to down Forest at the City Ground back in March, but before that, the Uruguayan was called a "sh*t Andy Carroll" – in reference to the former England striker who struggled at Anfield between 2011-13. Several months after that incident, the 24-year-old has broken his silence on these taunts, while revealing how manager Jurgen Klopp gave him a little pep talk.

He told : "In that game, the Forest fans were singing to me but I didn't understand anything. Thank goodness I ended up scoring the [winning] goal."
The forward added: "Then the coach [Klopp] in the locker room said 'screw them'."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Nunez joined Liverpool for a club-record £85 million fee ($108m) in 2022 but has, arguably, not lived up to that hefty price tag. The former Benfica star has scored 33 goals and bagged 17 assists in 96 appearances, but with manager Klopp leaving and forward Mohamed Salah being linked with a summer exit, more responsibility will fall on the Uruguayan to deliver at Anfield.

Following the end of another Premier League season, where Liverpool finished third and claimed the Carabao Cup, Nunez will likely represent Uruguay in their friendly matches against Costa Rica and Mexico on May 31 and June 5 respectively.
