The striker will spend the rest of the season at Turf Moor as the two teams have an agreement in place, Fabrizio Romano reports. A medical is scheduled to take place on Saturday before he completes the temporary switch, which does not include an option for Burnley to buy him outright this summer.

Burnley are the second team to sign Datro Fofana on loan this season. The Ivorian was initially sent to Union Berlin last summer and made 17 appearances for the German side in all competitions, but only 11 of those were from the start before he left the club this month. He found the net on two occasions in Germany, assisting once.

Datro Fofana, who joined Chelsea from Molde in January 2023, is Burnley's first signing of the January transfer window. The move sees Burnley co-owner and J.J. Watt raid his once beloved Chelsea as the NFL hero has been open about being a Blues fan before he bought a stake in the Clarets. He will hope that the new addition can help fire Vincent Kompany's team out of the Premier League relegation zone as they sit second bottom of the table – five points from safety.
