Liverpool will allow Mohamed Salah to leave the club if he wants to go, Becky Loy of The Anfield Wrap (February 28th, 16:45) has claimed.
What’s she said?
Spanish outlet El Desmarque claimed earlier this week that Real Madrid are interested in securing the Egypt international in the summer.
Salah is not said to feel comfortable at the club, despite winning the Champions League last season and edging towards Premier League glory this season. Liverpool are 22 points clear of Manchester City and have not lost in the league.
He has scored 15 goals in 24 outings in the league, along with four goals in seven appearances in Europe, but it is said that he could well be open to the idea of an exit.
Real are said to covet the signing of Kylian Mbappe but he would cost €300m (£258.3m) and Salah could be a cheaper alternative.
And the podcast discussed the reports, with Loy insisting that he would be allowed to leave if he expressed such a desire.
She said: “If Salah wants to go, Klopp will let him go. Just look at what he did with Coutinho.
“If we sell Salah because he’s not motivated to put his curls in the rain, or whatever reason it is, because it can’t be that he wants to go to a better team, it must be to go to a better climate, so be it, because we will buy same level or even better.”
Can you name the result these iconic Liverpool images belong to? Give it a go now…
Better?
How are Liverpool going to find better than Salah?
He has scored 90 goals in 140 outings for the club, along with providing 37 assists, and is perhaps one of the finest forwards in world football. He is valued at £135m by Transfermarkt.
And it is not merely that he will need to be replaced, they would need to find a player who could work closely with both Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino too. The trio are almost a collective at this point.
To assume that the Reds would simply be able to dip into the market and find a “better” player is nonsense, really, because he is a top-five attacker in world football.
One cannot expect either Mbappe or Lionel Messi to simply rock up on Merseyside next season.
These quotes are absolute nonsense.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are looking to poach this man from Manchester City!
