Newcastle United fans have been assessing the team’s performance against Chelsea, and one man has come under fire.
Florian Lejeune played the full 90 minutes as part of Benitez’s defence, but he failed to help keep out the Blues.
Dwight Gayle put the Magpies ahead after 12 minutes, but Eden Hazard ran the show as he found an equaliser.
Alvaro Morata gave Chelsea the lead just after the half-hour mark and Hazard later extended it by scoring a panenka penalty.
In the end, the Magpies lost 3-1, which marked their fifth defeat in six Premier League games.
Numerous players came under fire from the fans, and Lejeune did not escape criticism, with the supporters desperate for injured captain Jamaal Lascelles to return to marshall the defence.
Lejeune, who joined Newcastle from Eibar in the summer transfer window, has started nine top-flight fixtures so far this season.
The North-East outfit currently sit 14th in the table, five points above the relegation zone.
