Arsenal are considering a swap deal that would involve Alexis Sanchez joining Real Madrid and Alvaro Morata arriving at the Emirates, according to Don Balon.
What’s the word?
Sanchez’s long-term stay at the Emirates seems to be in doubt due to his failure to agree a new contract.
Negotiations have been going on for months, but an agreement is yet to be reached, sparking rumours that the Chilean is looking to move on.
Don Balon reports that the Gunners could try to get the most out of Sanchez’s exit by using him in a deal that would see Morata come the other way.
Arsenal, as well as Chelsea, have been linked to the Spaniard numerous times before, and the Gunners reportedly feel that they will have an advantage by offering Sanchez as part of the transfer.

Would this be a good move by Arsenal?
If Sanchez is set on leaving then the Gunners have two options – make him run down his contract until the end of next season or try to get the best deal possible in the summer.
There is nothing worse than having a player in the squad that does not want to be there because it can cause disruption and affect morale.
With that in mind, Arsenal would be wise to bring in a top talent as a replacement, and while Morata is not quite at Sanchez’s level, the 24-year-old has shown over the years – particularly at Juventus – that he is an attacking asset.
During his two-year stay in Turin, the forward scored 15 Serie A goals and seven in the Champions League.
After returning to Madrid last year, Morata has struggled for game time, starting just seven La Liga matches and only one in the Champions League.
In 26 appearances in all competitions, the forward has scored 11 goals and made three others.
Considering that most of those outings were as a substitute, it leaves us wondering what Morata could do if given a regular starting spot, of which he would receive at Arsenal.
