The 18-year-old – who was linked with a host of Premier League clubs over the summer – marked just his second senior appearance with a goal in Champions League qualifying, and though the midfielder is more likely to be used off the bench than as a starter, he has the potential to make his mark on the competition.

It will not come as a surprise that Salzburg come into the tournament with a new wave of talented youngsters in their line up, and Samson Baidoo has already made quite the impact in 2023-24.

Having become the youngest-ever scorer in the Danish Superliga almost two years ago, the 17-year-old has now established himself as a starter at Parken Stadium, and already has four goals to his name this season.
