According to Sky Sports and, well… just about everybody, Arsenal are set to sign Schalke star Sead Kolasinac on a free transfer this summer.
Indeed, the Gunners had to wait until the end of last summer for Arsene Wenger to get many of his deals over the line but it appears the Frenchman already has one scheduled for the next transfer window, with the Bosnian international reportedly due to arrive on July 1st.
Kolasinac has enjoyed an impressive final season at FC Schalke, performing well as a centre-back, a left-back and, perhaps most importantly, a left wing-back whilst notching up three goals and five assists at the more glamorous end of the pitch.
Indeed, Kolasinac seems almost purpose-built for the left-sided slot in the 3-4-3 system that has provided an uplifting end to Arsenal’s season, blessed with defensive physicality yet technically talented too.
With that in mind, we asked Gunners fans earlier this week whether the 23-year-old is ideal for Arsenal’s new setup and a staggering 83% of those who voted in our poll think he is. Clearly, the majority of Arsenal supporters are on board with this deal.
