Heading into December and Rangers are in a strong position both in the SPL and the Europa League.
The Glasgow club sit second just two points behind rivals Celtic in Scottish football’s top flight while there is barely anything separating them with Villarreal and Spartak Moscow in their European campaign.
Considering all of that, manager Steven Gerrard could look to strengthen his squad in January to give Rangers every chance of doing something special this season, and one name that refuses to go away is Dominic Solanke.
The Breakdown
Solanke has hardly featured for Liverpool this term and has since been linked with a short-term move to Rangers where Reds team-mate Ovie Ejaria is currently on loan, and the 21-year-old is now urging the striker to join him at Ibrox.
“If Dom was to join Rangers in January he would be a very good addition to the squad,” Ejaria told the Scottish Sun. It would increase the strength in depth of the squad and he would be a very good addition.
“Dom is a very good player and I’ve known him for a very long time. If I was to speak to him about it, I’d only have good things to say about Rangers. It’s a very good club and I’ve enjoyed my time here so far.”
With Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, Daniel Sturridge and now Xherdan Shaqiri all at Liverpool, it is not surprising Solanke has not been used by Jurgen Klopp, and it is hard to see that changing.
With that in mind, a move away from Anfield would be in Solanke’s best interest. And Ibrox could be the perfect destination for the English youngster.
He would be guaranteed more minutes than he is currently getting on Merseyside, while working under Liverpool legend Gerrard who has already shown he is capable of developing young players during his short time at Rangers would be a great experience for him.
