West Ham have been named amongst four English sides interested in signing Jamaican talent Alex Marshall, according to TeamTalk.
What’s the word?
Despite a spending spree that exceeded £100m in the summer West Ham have struggled to find their feet in the Premier League this season by losing five of their opening eight matches, and further additions in January are likely.
While the club is crying out for defensive reinforcements, TeamTalk suggests West Ham still have their eye on attacking additions as the Hammers are named alongside Liverpool, Tottenham and Aston Villa as being interested in Jamaican talent Alex Marshall.
The 20-year-old is labelled the ‘new Raheem Sterling’ and has earned seven caps for Jamaica despite his tender age, leading to increased attention in his services due to his exciting talents.
Worth a move?
With comparisons to Manchester City star Raheem Sterling, interest in Marshall was always going to be drummed up and he has a decent return of eight goals in 33 matches playing for Jamaican side Cavalier. However, making the jump to the Premier League is a huge challenge.

West Ham already have Marko Arnautovic, Andriy Yarmolenko, Felipe Anderson, Lucas Perez and Michail Antonio as options in the wide areas of their attack, so it is not clear where exactly the young talent would fit into Pellegrini’s squad.
The addition would also potentially be bad news for another young winger in Grady Diangana, who must be on the periphery of his manager’s thoughts following his display in the 8-0 win against Macclesfield Town last month.
