Trent Alexander-Arnold is hopeful of returning from injury for Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Manchester City next month, according to Paul Joyce.
The Lowdown: Trent suffers injury blow
The Reds are firing on all cylinders currently, picking up a vital 2-0 victory away to Arsenal on Wednesday night and moving to within one point of City.
Liverpool have suffered a big injury blow, however, with Jurgen Klopp confirming that Alexander-Arnold is facing ‘weeks’ on the sidelines with a hamstring problem.
With the potentially season-defining trip to the Etihad looming on April 10th, the 23-year-old now faces a race against time to be fit.
The Latest: Joyce provides positive update
Writing for The Times, Joyce claimed that Alexander-Arnold may be back in time for the trip to City, acting as a big relief.
He will likely miss the FA Cup clash with Nottingham Forest on Sunday, the Premier League visit of Watford early next month and the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Benfica.

The Verdict: Could be worse
There is no denying that Alexander-Arnold being injured is a huge blow for Liverpool, with the right-back very much the creative hub of the team, having registered 15 assists so far this season.
The Englishman missed the reverse fixture at home to City earlier in the season and his attacking guile was missed, with James Milner slotting in at right-back but failing to add the same natural width and quality, completing just two crosses in that game.
It looks hopeful that Alexander-Arnold will be available for the game and it could make such a difference to the outcome at the Etihad and, therefore, the Premier League title race.
